Learn how to create and manage Canvas boards for your AI workflows.
Creating Your First Board
Step 1: Open Canvas
Click Apps → Canvas (or Board) in the sidebar.
Step 2: Create Board
Click the Create Board button in the top-right.
Step 3: Name Your Board
Enter a descriptive name for your board:
- "Product Photography Workflow"
- "Character Design Pipeline"
- "Video Ad Generator"
Step 4: Start Building
Your empty board opens. Click the + button to add your first node!
Board Interface
Canvas Area
The main workspace where you place and connect nodes.
Controls:
- Click + Drag - Pan around the canvas
- Scroll - Zoom in/out
- Double-click - Add node at that position
Toolbar (Top)
Left side:
- + Add Node - Insert new nodes
- Organize - Auto-arrange nodes
- Undo/Redo - Navigate history
Right side:
- Share - Collaboration settings
- Present - Presentation mode
- Save - Manual save (auto-saves already)
- Settings - Board preferences
Side Panels
Chat Panel (right) - Team communication
Notepad Panel (right) - Personal notes

Adding Nodes
Method 1: Plus Button
- Click the + button in the toolbar
- Browse node categories
- Click a node type to add it
Method 2: Right-Click Menu
- Right-click empty canvas space
- Select Add Node
- Choose node type
Method 3: Keyboard Shortcut
Press N to open the add node menu.

Connecting Nodes
Creating Connections
- Click and drag from an output handle (right side of node)
- Drop on an input handle (left side of target node)
- Connection line appears
Connection Rules
Handles must match:
- Image output → Image input ✓
- Text output → Text input ✓
- Video output → Video input ✓
Invalid connections are prevented automatically.
Removing Connections
Method 1: Click the connection line and press Delete
Method 2: Drag the connection end to empty space
Method 3: Right-click connection → Remove
Organizing Your Board
Moving Nodes
Click and drag any node to reposition it.
Auto-Organize
Click Organize in the toolbar to automatically arrange nodes in a clean layout.
Grid Snapping
Enable snapping to align nodes perfectly:
- Toggle with the grid icon or press G
- Nodes snap to grid when moving
Zoom & Pan
Zoom:
- Scroll to zoom in/out
- Ctrl/Cmd + Plus/Minus
- Fit to view: Ctrl/Cmd + 0
Pan:
- Click and drag empty space
- Hold Spacebar + drag
- Use minimap (bottom-right)
Naming & Organizing Nodes
Rename Nodes
- Select the node
- Click the node title
- Type new name
- Press Enter
Good names:
- "Hero Image"
- "Background Video"
- "Product Shot"
Bad names:
- "Node 1"
- "Image"
- "Untitled"
Color Coding (Coming Soon)
Future feature: Assign colors to nodes for visual organization.
Board Settings
Access Board Settings
Click the Settings icon (gear) in the top-right.
Available Settings
General:
- Board name
- Description
- Created date (read-only)
Collaboration:
- Sharing settings
- Member access
- Public/private toggle
Preferences:
- Auto-run new nodes
- Grid snapping default
- Auto-save frequency
Saving & Auto-Save
Auto-Save
Boards save automatically every 30 seconds and:
- After each node addition
- After connection changes
- After node configuration updates
- When you run a generation
Save indicator: Watch the cloud icon in the top-right. Green checkmark means saved.
Manual Save
Force a save anytime:
- Click the Save button
- Press Ctrl/Cmd + S
Duplicating Boards
Create a Copy
- Go to Canvas app home
- Find the board in the list
- Click ... menu
- Select Duplicate
- New copy appears with "(Copy)" suffix
Use cases:
- Create variations
- Test different approaches
- Archive working versions
Deleting Boards
Delete a Board
- Go to Canvas app home
- Find the board
- Click ... menu
- Select Delete
- Confirm deletion
Warning: Deleted boards cannot be recovered!
Before deleting:
- Export any content you need
- Notify collaborators
- Download outputs

Best Practices
Start Simple
Begin with 2-3 nodes. Test before adding complexity.
Use Descriptive Names
Name nodes clearly so others (and future you) understand.
Add Notes
Use Notes nodes to document your workflow.
Test Incrementally
Run each node before connecting the full pipeline.
Organize as You Go
Don't wait until the board is messy. Clean up regularly.
Use Prompt Nodes
Store reusable prompts in Prompt nodes instead of typing repeatedly.

Troubleshooting
Board won't save
- Check internet connection
- Refresh the page
- Try manual save
- Contact support if persistent
Can't add nodes
- Make sure you're not in View Only mode
- Check if board is loading
- Refresh the page
- Clear browser cache
Nodes won't connect
- Verify handle types match
- Check for existing connections
- Make sure both nodes are loaded
- Try refreshing
Board is slow
- Too many nodes (50+ nodes may slow down)
- Close other tabs
- Reduce browser extensions
- Try Chrome for best performance
